WHO'S BEHIND THE CANVAS ?

I want to introduce to those of you who are not familiar with our twenty plus years of bringing Russian Art to the USA to our website and talk personally to you about our passion for the art and artists which drives my husband, LP, and myself, Dianne,Cline everyday to keep searching and learning to better understand the lifelong journey for these artists who gave up everything to use their God given talent to enrich all of our lives.
Before art came into our lives, I never gave a lot of thought to the man or woman behind the canvas. Now when I look at any painting or other medium of art, my mind immediately wonders into the thought pattern of, “who is the real person behind this?”
“It’s not important what or how good an artist I became. It’s important that I always remembered that the right to be an artist assumes absolute performance and responsibility. I never waived that rule.” A quote from Yuri Vnodchenko, Honored Artist of Russia, Voronezh, Russia. This quote with many others is in our book, “The Yellow Van” which is a journal about our hunt for beautiful art. The book is available on Amazon and through our gallery as well. Check out the previous blog featuring “The Yellow Van” to help with understanding why we are so passionate about what we do and we hope it will do the same for you. When you are viewing the paintings on our site, it will bring logic and better understanding to you having read the book.
As we go along I will bring in the historical info that is in every painting.
We will be taking a different artist with each post and giving you the stories behind them. Going a little further than what is in the book. Also we would like to give you insight to the politics of the Art World.
We look forward to any questions you might have and hopefully we will be able to answer, If not, we will research until we can.
We are enclosing an image of one of the items belonging to our first featured artists’ grandfather who was an Russian Orthodox Priest. You will really enjoy this piece.
