Yuri Petrovich Dyakov
Yuri Petrovich Dyakov was born in the city of Tambov in 1929. He began his studies of Russian Art and received his education at the Penza Art College from 1949 to 1954. Penza is about three hundred miles south of Moscow and is one of the strongest of the provincial schools. Many well know artists have received their training there.
Yuri Petrovich Dyakov's works are alive with aggressive brush strokes and vivid colors. When he became a member of the artist's union and began to exhibit in 1957 his creativity brought him more grief than happiness. Yuri Petrovich Dyakov was unwilling to compromise and rarely received commissions. In later years he began to paint for profit. These works are dead compared to those he did for his own soul.
Yuri Petrovich Dyakov's works are in private collections as well as in museums throughout Europe and the USA.
