Vadim Y. Kulakov
Vadim Y. Kulakov was born November 25, 1916 in Moscow. In 1938 he entered the Arts Department of the Textile Institute where he began his studies of the Art of Russian Painting. In 1941 Vadim Y. Kulakov left his studies and served on the front in the Reconnaissance mission, as evidenced by his many combat medals and awards shown in his photograph. He was twice wounded. On the front he did sketches and portraits of his comrades, battlefields and other places. In 1946 Vadim Y. Kulakov returned to his studies in the Institute under A. V. Kuprin, A. V. Shevchenko and P. P. Pashkov. It was in this year he graduated.
Vadim Y. Kulakov started exhibiting in 1947, and has been a participant in many international, All Union and republic exhibitions. His works can be found in many museums and private collections both in Russia, Germany, Austria, Japan, England, Norway and the USA.
Vadim Y. Kulakov has the title of Honoured Worker of Culture Of The USSR.
In 2000 he was awarded the title of Honoured Teacher of the Textile University of Moscow.
Vadim Y. Kulakov died in June of 2005.
