Petr Ivanovich Petrovichev
Petr Ivanovich Petrovichev was born in Vysotskoe, Yaroslav Russia in 1874. Petrovichev studied at the Moscow College of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture from 1892-1903. Petr was active in Moscow and a member of the Itinerants from 1906 thru 1911. Petrovichev was a Member of The Union of Artists from 1910: Association of Realist Artists from 1927 as a founding member. Petrovichev exhibited with MOLKh from 1890-1909: Itinerants 1901-1912, ex’s 1929, 30,,32-1940: World of Art 1902, and 1903. Union of Russian Artists 1904-1923; AKHRR 1922 and 23. Association of Realist Artist 1927, 1928.
Important shows include ‘First Russian Art Exhibition’ Berlin, Germany, 1922; ‘Artists of The Russian Federation over Fifteen Years’, Moscow 1946. Specialized in landscapes especially with architectural motifs; interiors.
Petr I. Petrovichev taught at the Art College in Moscow 1905 and again from 1936-1941.
Petr Ivanovich Petrovichev died in 1947.
In December 1999, the State Museum preserve “Rostov Kremlin” celebrated the 125th anniversary of Petr I. Pertovichev, perhaps the most known artsit of Rostov.
Petrovichev occupies a worthy place in art culture of the 20th Century, this 125th Anniversary exhibition was devoted to his creativity and opened the Rostov Museum Picture Gallery as a permanent exhibition which can still be viewed today.
Petr Ivanovich Petrovichev paintings are collected throughout Europe and the United States and other countries as well.
