Matvey Fedorovich Gorbatenko, born 1918 in Smolensk province, exhibited widely throughout Russia and abroard, works are found in many museums and private collection, abroad and the USA. Merited artist of Russia, merited worker of Russian Ministry of Culture. He was a chairman of the Siberian division of the Soviet Union of Artists 1957 - 1960.
